This past week I had the honor of attending the birthday party of Oprah's very own make up maestro, Derrick Rutledge. Rutledge is an MUA to celebs like Chaka Khan Beyonce, Michelle Obama and many others.

Before hitting the road with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah's 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus tour, Mr. Rutledge made sure to throw an unforgettable celebration. The theme of the night was "All shades of green," which Rutledge explained is an homage to nature and flourishing life while also giving a nod to our desperate need to take better care of the environment.
Rich in meaning and inspiration, Derrick’s highlighted his positive spirit and focus on celebrating the gifts of life. As Derrick told his star-studded guest list,
“Family, it’s a celebration about life! You see, the more you celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate! So love the life you live, and live the life you love by coming out and helping me celebrate ... the Gifts of Life!”
